Scabiosa 'Red' & Ammi majus Seeds

Scabiosa atropurpurea 'Red' has fascinating dark buds and glamorous pure red pincushion flowers followed by amazing seed heads. It is easy to grow, extremely hardy and produces masses of flowers for cutting. The more you cut the more you get. Sow outdoors in spring for flowers this summer then sow again in autumn. An autumn sowing will produce slightly earlier, taller and sturdier flowers the following year.

Ammi majus makes an ideal companion for these lovely red Scabious flowers either in the garden or as cut flowers in a vase. Ammi majus is one of our tallest hardy annuals with long strong stems, lacy white flower heads and dark green feathery foliage. It’s good for adding height to borders, for cut flower production and attracts pollinating insects too. In fact it's such a great plant that the RHS have awarded it the AGM (Award of Garden Merit).
