Larkspur 'White' Seeds

Spires of elegant white double flowers on long branching stems are truly sublime. Sow in spring or autumn. Larkspur are very hardy. From an autumn sowing Larkspur produces sturdy plants and flowers early the following year.

For best germination: Seeds need Stratification. there's a simple explanation on the Blog and on the Resources Page (Overcoming Seed Dormancy).

Consolida ambigua commonly known as Annual Larkspur are extremely hardy... they are also classic country garden plants. Their dramatic flowers are good in your borders, for cut flowers and can also be dried to make confetti. If you love Delphiniums then you'll love these! Larkspur are annual Delphiniums.

Sow Seeds Sow indoors from February-March. Sow outdoors in April and May then again in autumn, September/October.

Conditions Required Prefers moist but well drained soil in full sun.

Provide netting support to keep plants upright or the stems will bend.

Flower Production Beautiful white flowers produced from May to September.
Picking Pick Larkspur early in the morning, remove most of the leaves and stand them in deep water for a few hours before arranging. Lasts 7- 10 days in a vase.
Planting Combinations Larkspur is one of the best annual flowers you can grow. You will be amazed at how gorgeous these flowers are and how talented you are for growing them! They are beautiful in the garden or in a vase with Dark Blue Larkspur and lime green flowers such as Molucella and Nicotiana and of course frothy fillers such as Daucus and Orlaya.
