Geum chiloense 'Lady Stratheden' Seeds

Perennial Geums are vigorous plants with strong stems and plenty of beautiful flowers. Lady Stratheden has blooms in the most beautiful shade of golden yellow. Flowers are semi-double and carried on stems rising above well branched mounds of foliage.
Geum are brilliant plants for beginners because they are very easy to grow and super productive giving you an excellent show in the garden and masses of flowers. They love sun and dappled shade. What's more they are perennial. Cut back after flowering and they'll produce a second flush of flowers in late summer then regrow to flower again next year. Excellent source of nectar for Bees. Awarded the prestigious Award of Garden Merit by the RHS for reliability and good garden performance.

Plant Type Hardy Perennial.
Height & Spread 60cm tall x 45-60 cm wide (2 feet tall x 18 inches to 2 feet wide)
Sow Seeds Sow indoors from February to July at 13-18°C. Lightly cover with compost. Allow seedlings to grow until well established then pot on and grow until well established. Plant out and sow direct from when the soil is warm from May onwards. Alternatively sow August/September and establish over autumn and winter for flowering next year.
Plant Out Plant out after the last frosts from May onwards. Once plants are established they are hardy all year round to minus 20°C.
Conditions Required Geums prefer well drained soil and a sunny spot. They will also grow in dappled shade. Water thoroughly in dry spells. Deadhead and feed to keep the flowers going.
Flower Production Masses of blooms produced from May/June to August/September.
Planting Combinations Geums are are some of the best perennial flowers that you can grow. They are especially good for early colour and you will be amazed at how many flowers are produced. They make a great show on their own and with other hardy perennials and grasses.
