I’m delighted to say that the ducklings are thriving. Most of the other new families of ducklings have become a tasty snack for the heron which visits daily and also has young to feed.
This particular mother duck is vigilant…

She brings them to me because she knows we’ll feed her family.
She keeps her beady eye on me at all times. It makes me laugh to see the feathers standing up slightly on her head to show her concern. Just click on the head shot to enlarge it and you’ll see what I mean.
