The driveway to our home is a narrow gravel track lined by an old hedgerow. The predominant species is hawthorn and there’s also holly, ivy, honeysuckle, ash, elm, roses, sycamore, flowering currant and hazel.
At the foot of the hedge wild flowers grow… each month there’s something in flower.
In May there’s always cow parsley and red campion. This year they’ve been joined by forget-me-nots.
Most people consider these plants to be weeds. Hard to believe isn’t it?
